Purpletop or Purple Tridens first caught my eye in late summer, when I noticed its bright purple seeds in a field. The height is around four feet and it nods to one side. Purple Tridens tends to clump when solitary, but can also fill a meadow if left to grow. Birds, mammals and fireflies will appreciate the placement of this grass.
